If you're buying a new one it will most likely have a wiring diagram with it.

Wiring diagram is shit it even has a pic of a distributer on it ........I was told I just had to splice the wires to behind the speedo.......says its for 2cyl   4stroke (correct)  red wire to ign on (ok) black wire ground(ok) green wire to negitive terminal of coil (??????)      I was told it definitly 100% will fit my bike......time to give up for now and have a few oyzo's...cheers.

My bike is 01 FXDWG .

My tacho hooked up to a pink wire under the console that is not always shown on wiring diagrams.

My set up is analog but yours will be wifi?however the pink wire has a plastic end on it.

Thanks guys .....harley instructions are shit to read or I am a dumb ass...this is what I found out and hope it makes it easier for the next bloke......cheers wingnut.

Blue locking pin" />Remove blue locking pin

Blanking pin" />Then remove red blanking pin

Orange/white trace" />Orange / white trace to red tacho wire

Black wire" />Shit photo but shows only black wire to black to tacho wire

Pickup to green tacho wire" />Does not show female Deutsch connection fitted.......Dick Smith not open on Sunday

Position of fitted tacho" /> Tacho position

I will take another pic when I get the Deutch fitting and wire up the tacho light.......but it does work and yes it does read 12000 rpm the 8000 rpm tachos are no longer available in 48 mm.
